Daniel Yates

Daniel J. Yates is a Colorado Springs native.  He currently resides in Washington state.  A former tattoo artist, he owned and operated studios throughout the U.S. before trading in his tattoo gun and needles for paints and brushes.

Daniel majored in art at both Walla Walla Community College and Oklahoma State University, as well as being a member of the Northeastern Oklahoma Art Association.

Primarily motivated by motorcycle, automotive and southwestern themes, he paints everything from portraits, flowers, and seascapes to cartoons-often placing hidden images within paintings (so look closely).

Daniel has won many awards over the years, but is proudest of his “Special Award” he received from the Washington State Fair. His art has been displayed at the Northeastern Art Association, Southeastern WA Fair, WA Pioneer Days, Inside-Out Gallery in Walla Walla, Dream Maker Gallery in Colorado Springs, and Colorado State Fair, as well as many small shops throughout Colorado and Washington.

Mr. Yates makes annual donations to BACA (bikers against child abuse) and Special Olympics in contributions to the furtherance of their causes, and all other profits from the sales of his pieces go to support his wife and children.
