Figured Maple with Pyrography Top
Purple Heart and Figured Maple Box

One of two boxes crafted for Brigadoon Service Dogs to auction as a means of supporting their program. This nonprofit organization trains service dogs for Veterans in need, and the dogs are trained by incarcerated Veterans in Washington State.

Previous boxes were often adorned with military, university, or sports imagery. However, these two boxes were to honor Brigadoon’s history and purpose. Named for the mythical Scottish city, Brigadoon, and tied to the Celtic heritage so tightly they’ve incorporated a Scottish tartan in their logo, Garridan wanted to use Celtic imagery. Knotwork is his ‘go-to’ in this regard, and hounds in knotwork is not only a classic image, but ties in the purpose of Brigadoon – dogs.

This box is crafted from figured maple and purpleheart, with the same making up its wooden hinges. It’s lining is crushed velvet.
