There’s a room with a bright light
cinder block walls painted white
concrete polished slab of a floor
and there’s a desk without paper
your thoughts with out a pencil
a thin mat to rest your head
with one sheet and blanket,
sent for a day or maybe some years
there’s a room with a bright light
a jail within prison, a cell within a cell
where your thoughts they will echo
and a whispering breath will boom
so silence your voice to a whisper
the humming white noise of the light
resounds forever in your ears
lit for eternity or till it crumbles
Solitarily confined, sometimes walked
like a dog with a leash for a shower.
there’s a room with bright light
windows without a view painted white
blocking out the sun and the moon
the fluorescent light in a steel box
humming away damaging your soul
it’s the sound of oppression
and it’s there to teach you a lesson,
you can be dead and alive
all at the same time,
thoughts will infest your mind
your only friend becomes your shadow
Solitude with a lesson of oppression.
there’s a room with a bright light
call it different things, intense management
most call it the hole some call it the box
break a rule I dare you, any will do
find your self in isolation and deprivation,
there’s a room with bright light
for you and your shadow
your only friend who will miss you
when the lights go out.
